ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men's tennis team fell to cross-town rival No. 35-ranked TCU on Sunday at the UTA Tennis Center.
The Mavericks excelled in the doubles competition against the Horned Frogs, taking three of the five doubles matches.
"We played at a very high intensity in doubles," UT Arlington assistant coach Mindaugas Celedinas said. "We won three out of five and at that moment we felt pretty good. Then we came out a bit flat for singles and TCU elevated their game."
Carlos Arbiza and Javier Perez won at the No. 1 position in doubles, defeating the top pair of the Horned Frogs 8-6. Austin Robles and Daniel Armengol won their match 8-5 and a team of Mario Muniesa and Francesco Migliano won 8-3.
Migliano continued his momentum into singles, defeating UTA's No. 10 player 6-0, 7-5. UTA continues its spring season on Friday by hosting UT-Pan American at the UTA Tennis Center.
