ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team defeated in-state rival UT Pan American 6-1 on Friday at the UTA Tennis Center.

The Mavericks won five of the six singles matches against the Broncs, and two out of three in doubles.

"Getting the doubles point helped us so much getting into singles play," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "I am very happy for Marek Pesicka in clinching the match at the No. 1 position."

Sebastian Erimicioiu earned a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 victory in singles play, and joinied up with Pesicka for an 8-5 win in doubles.

Daniel Armengol and Austin Robles clinched UTA's win in doubles, winning 8-6. Armengol won in singles 6-1, 6-0. Pesicka clinched a 6-4, 6-4 win to join Migliano, who won 6-2, 6-4.

The Mavericks continue weekend action Sunday when they travel to Austin to face the No. 6 Texas Longhorns at 12 p.m. The match will be replayed on the Longhorn Network at 9 p.m.
