MEN'S TENNIS SWEEPS CENTENARY COLLEGE

ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington men's tennis squad breezed past Centenary College 7-0 Saturday morning at the UTA Tennis Center. With the win, UTA improves to 3-4 overall.
The Mavericks claimed the doubles point by sweeping doubles action. Nathan McGregor and Josey Trimmier teamed up to defeat Brian Roberts and Josh Pinto, 8-2, at the top position. In the two spot, Kyle Mims and Petri van Rensburg handedd Russ Patrick and Arthur Okura a 6-2, 6-3 decision while David Corrie and Sandy Farquharson won by default at the No. 3 position.
Corrie, ranked No. 32 nationally, eased by Roberts, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while McGregor needed a tiebreaker to defeat Pinto in the two hole, 6-3, 5-7 (10-6). At the No. 4 position, Trimmier earned a straight set decision over Okura, 6-2, 6-3 and Mims followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Barkley at the No. 5 position. Farquharson and Van Rensburg each won by default.
The Mavericks (3-4) return to action this afternoon against Cameron University.
