ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's tennis lost another close match Friday afternoon. UTSA slipped past the Mavericks 4-3 at the UTA Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 3-8 on the season and have lost four straight matches.
The Roadrunners stepped ahead early, winning the doubles point to head to singles with a 1-0 lead.
Sophomore Sebastian Erimicioiu defeated his opponent at the No. 4 position for his seventh win of the season.
Freshman Mario Muniesa competed at the No. 5 spot for the second time in a row for the Mavericks, winning 7-5, 6-3. Fellow freshman Daniel Echeverry also won for UTA with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 6 position.
The Mavericks return to the court Sunday to face New Mexico State at 10 a.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
