ARLINGTON, Texas—The UT Arlington men’s tennis fell 4-3 Wednesday, March 13 to Radford at the UTA Tennis Center.
“Much credit to Radford who never stopped fighting,” UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. “It is a tough loss we have been on both sides of the coin and it wasn’t our day today.”
Yauheni Yakauleu and Carlos Arbiza defeated their opponent 9-7 at the No. 2 position and Sebastian Erimicioiu and Javier Parez won 8-6 at the No. 3 spot to give the Mavs the 1-0 lead headed into singles competition.
Yakauleu also defeated his opponent during singles 6-1, 6-2. Freshman Marek Pesicka defeated his opponent at the No. 5 position 6-2, 6-2, but the other Mavericks fell short and Radford took the win.
The men dropped to 5-6 on the season.
