MAVS FALL 7-0 TO SACRAMENTO STATE

Sacramento, Calif. - The UT Arlington men's tennis squad dropped a 7-0 decision to Sacramento State on Saturday, March 14 in Sacramento, Calif. at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.

The loss dropped the Mavs to 6-6 overall while Sacramento State improved to 8-6 on the season.

Kiryl Harbatsiuk and Anton Strayhas handed No. 1 doubles' team Dmitry Minkin and Mindaugas Celedinas an 8-2 setback while Brieuc Hamon and Adam Srkala dropped an 8-3 decision against Holden Ching and Marko Starcelvic in the No. 2 position.

David Subirats and Gonzalo Bienzobas concluded doubles' action, falling 8-2 in the No. 3 position to Jason Smith and Artur Klimenka.

UTA headed into singles action down 1-0 and dropped all six matches. The Mavericks battled hard, sending five of the six matches into three sets.

UT Arlington's No. 1 singles' player, Celedinas dropped a 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, and 6-2 decision to Harbatsick while Minkin suffered a 6-4, 4-6, and 6-4 loss to Anton Stryhas in the No. 2 spot.

Ching posted a 6-1, 3-6, and 6-3 over Hamon in the No. 3 position while Srkala lost to Smith in the No.4 spot, by scores of 6-1, 6-3.

In the No. 5 spot, Starcevic handed Subirats a 2-6, 7-5 and 6-2 setback while Bienzobas lost his match against Klimenka with scores of 1-6, 6-1 and 6-2 in the No. 6 lineup spot.

The Mavericks continue tennis action in Sacramento, Calif. when they face Northern Arizona on Sunday, March 15 at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club. Match time is set for noon.
