MAVS POST 5-2 WIN OVER NORTHERN ARIZONA

Sacramento, Calif. - The UT Arlington men's tennis squad continued tennis action in the West Coast, capturing a 5-2 victory over Northern Arizona on Sunday, March 15 in Sacramento, Calif. at the Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.

The Mavericks rolled past the Lumberjacks in doubles action, collecting two of the three matches and earning a 1-0 lead.

Dmitry Minkin and Mindaugas Celedinas led the Mavs with a 9-7 win over David Flodberg and Jacob Tracy in the top doubles' spot while Brieuc Hamon and Adam Srkala recorded an 8-6 victory against Rob Pezzutlo and Andrew Reiff in the No. 2 position.

David Subirats and Gonzalo Bienzobas suffered an 8-3 setback over Chris Arena and Joco Visagie in the No. 3 spot in the lineup.

UTA headed into singles action leading 1-0 over the Lumberjacks and battled their way to a 5-2 victory.

Celedinas suffered a 7-6, 6-3 setback against Reiff in the No. 1 spot while Minkin notched a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Flodberg, with scores of 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 2 position.

Hamon dropped a three-set decision to Arena, by scores of 3-6, 7-6 and 10-8 while Jason Lateko handed Pezzutlo a 6-2, 6-2 loss in the No. 4 spot.

Subirats captured a 6-2, 6-4 win against Tracy in the No. 5 position while Bienzobas collected a 6-4, 6-3 against Brelin Powell in the No. 6 spot of the rotation.

UT Arlington continues tennis action today when it faces St. Mary's at noon in Sacramento, Calif.
