ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington men's tennis fell 4-1 to No. 63 Wichita State Monday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center.
"We played some flat doubles today," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "We were able to play strong sginles and give ourselves some good opportunities, but the score hides the truth of how well we played today."
The Shockers fought to an early lead as the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles pairings took down the Mavericks to go up 1-0 heading into singles play.
Freshman Francesco Migliano was the only Maverick to defeat his WSU opponent, as UTA lost at No. 2, 4 and 5 singles.
Senior Javier Perez played his final match at UTA on his home court.
The Mavericks return to the road traveling to Murfreesboro, Tenn for the Middle Tennessee Shootout March 28-30.
