ARLINGTON, Texas— The UT Arlington men’s tennis team fell 4-1 to Western Athletic Conference and in-state rival UTSA Saturday, March 30 at the UTA Tennis Center.
"It was a hard fought match today," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "We clinched the doubles with great agressive play. The guys left it all on the courting in singles, but it wasn't enough."
The Mavericks took an early lead winning the doubles points and the No. 1 and No .2 singles positions to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
UTA’s momentum would end there. The UTSA roadrunners won at four singles positions to clinch the match and improve to 2-0 in conference play.
The Mavericks dropped to 6-10 overall and 0-2 in league play.
UTA hosts the Idaho Vandals Monday, April 1 at 2 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center for its third WAC match of the season.
