EDINBURG, Texas - The Mavericks showed up ready to play in Edinburg as they defeated the UT Pan American Brocs 6-1 Monday.
"We played solid doubles and came out determined for singles," UT Arlington head coach Diego Benitez said. "I'm very proud of the guys and the way they competed.
"This match and our match last Friday at UTSA are two huge wins on the road."
The men improve to 2-2 in the Southland Conference standings and are now tied for third with UT San Antonio.
The Men began their day by winning the doubles point against the Brocs as each doubles team won their match.
UTA continued their success winning five of the six singles sets with senior Mindaugas Celedinas defeating Beau Bernstein at the No. 1 positions 6-3, 6-3. No. 6 Jason Lateko escaped a close battle as he defeated hit UTPA opponent 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.
The men will resume play Thursday as they take on the Lamar Cardinals for their fifth league match. The Mavericks are set to being at 2 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
