LOGAN, Utah — The UT Arlington men’s tennis team lost its final regular season match of the season against Western Athletic Conference opponent Utah State 4-3.
UTA dropped to 7-13 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
The Aggies stepped up early, winning the doubles point at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
Yauheni Yakauleu defeated USU’s Fredrik Peterson at the No. 2 spot, 6-2, 6-2. Freshmen Carlos Arbiza and Marek Pesicka also won their singles competition at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively.
The Aggies also picked up three singles wins, which gave them the 4-3 victory over the Mavs.
The Mavericks have several days off before heading to Denver, Colo. for the Western Athletic Conference tournament, which begins April 25.
