Corpus Christi, Texas - In the first round of the Southland Conference Tennis Tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas, the UT Arlington men's squad suffered a 4-1 setback against Southeastern Louisiana. The Mavericks wrapped up their season with a 9-13 overall record.

UT Arlington opened tennis action with doubles competition where they dropped all three flights and the match point to the Lions.

Mindaugas Celedinas and Dmitry Minkin lost an 8-6 decision to Benjamin Enke and Stepan Siska in the No. 1 spot while Gonzalo Bienzobas and Brieuc Hamon suffered an 8-4 setback against Jan Bezdecka and Guillaume Capovin in the No. 2 position in the lineup.

Falling in the third flight was duo Adam Srkala and David Subirats where they lost an 8-1 decision to Damien Cordoba and Julien Roussel.

Down 1-0 heading into singles action, UTA struggled against the Lions, falling in three matches and unable to finish two.

In the top flight, Celedinas was the only Maverick to collect a victory as he handed Siska a 6-2, 6-4 loss while Minkin dropped his match against Roussel, 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 position.

Enke defeated Hamon, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 3 spot while Subirats' lost the No. 4 flight against Cordoba with scores of 6-3, 4-3, unfinished.

Capovin handed Srkala a 6-1, 6-4 setback in the No. 5 spot while Bienzobas dropped a 6-7, unfinished decision to Bezdecka in the sixth flight.
