FORT WORTH, Texas - Freshman Sebastian Erimicioiu won the consolation draws at the Texas Regionals in Fort Worth this weekend.
Freshman Emiriciou defeated Blake Wiggins from TCU 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 to advance to the second round of open singles, but fell to Baylor’s Marko Krickovik in the next round, allowing him to compete in the B Draws.
“It was a solid weekend of tennis for us,” head coach Diego Benitez said. “We played against some of the best schools in the nation and we came out on top in many matches.
“Stefan Williams continues to play great tennis every tournament and Sebastian Erimicioiu won the B Draw, beating several of Big 12 schools.”
Erimcioiu defeated Baylor’s Robert Korth 6-3, 6-4 to win the B Draws and take home the team’s first title of the 2012 fall season. Several other members of the men’s team took down Big 12 opponents in singles competition.

Aribza and Yakauleu teamed up for doubles as the defeated host team TCU’s Chappell and Superlano 8-4. The men will continue individual competitoin in Novermer at the Austin Invitational.
