MEN'S TENNIS FALL FINALE AT TEXAS INVITATIONAL

AUSTIN - UT Arlington men's tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule at the Texas Invitational this weekend. Sophomore Dmitry Minkin advanced to the quarterfinals in the consolation bracket. The Mavs opened play on Friday with wins from freshmen Hugo Taracido, David Costa and Roman Ogarkov. Minkin fell early, but bounced back in the consolation bracket to advance to the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Nebraska's Mark Tate. Taracido sent Tate to the consolation bracket with the 6-4, 6-2 win in the round of 64 before falling 6-0, 6-2 to Ed Corrie from Texas. Costa came back to win 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 over Oregon's Paco Gallardo, but was forced to withdrawal due to illness in the round of 16. In the singles B draw, Ogarkov came back to win 6-3, 6-2 over St. Edward's Nick Arnold after dropping the first set 2-6. Rook Schellenberg from Texas eliminated Ogarkov 7-5, 6-0 in the round of 16. In doubles action Costa and Ogarkov fell 8-6 to Hubert Chodkiewicz and Corrie from Texas. While Gonzalo Bienzobas and Taracido lost 8-6 to Oregon's Stephen Wiechert and Mike Myrhed. SINGLES MAIN DRAW
