MAVS FALL 6-1 AT TULSA

Tulsa, Okla. - The UT Arlington men's tennis squad dropped a 6-1 decision to Conference USA foe-University of Tulsa on Sunday, January 25 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Mavericks fell to 1-2 on the season while the Golden Hurricane improved their record to 4-1.
UTA dropped the doubles' point, falling in all three matches to the Golden Hurricane. In the number-one doubles spot, tandem Brieuc Hamon and Adam Srkala suffered an 8-5 setback over #4 Arnau Brugues and #91 Philip Stephens while Alberto Sottocorno and Ashley Watling handed Mindaugas Celedinas and Dmitry Minkin a 8-5 loss, in the second position.
In singles' action, UTA dropped five of the six matches to the Golden Hurricane. Hamon suffered a 6-0, 6-1 setback against #10 Brugues in the top singles' position while #91 Stephens handed Celedinas a 6-3, 6-3.
Minkin lost his match to Sottocorno by scores of 6-3, 6-4 at the third single's spot while Srkala dropped a 6-3, 7-6 (6) decision over Marko Ballok. Ross Cunningham handed Bienzobas a 6-3, 6-0 setback and Jason Lateko was the only Mavericks that recorded a victory at the number-six spot. Lateko defeated James Seagraves by final scores of 2-6, 6-3, and 6-4.
UT Arlington returns to the UTA Tennis Center for a match-up against Radford University on Monday, January 26, for a 2 p.m. start.
