ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's tennis heads to Beaumont, Texas to face former Southland Conference foe Lamar Monday at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
"We are looking forward to this match," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "We are very familiar with Lamar and they always play a great match. I expect high levels of competition from both teams."
UT Arlington is 0-1 after a 4-0 loss at Rice to open the 2014 season. Lamar is heading into the match with a 3-2 record.
"We played really well at Rice despite the loss, and we've put in a lot of hard work and great practices since then. I expect us to come out and play hard," Benitez said.
The Mavericks defeated the Cardinals 6-1 at the UTA Tennis Center two years ago.
