ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men’s tennis team will face Cameron Friday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at the UTA Tennis Center in its home opener.
“We have worked really hard on our aggressive game, moving forward on the court,” UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. “I think we played a great match against TCU, which just beat Stanford, and we were able to play them very tough.”
The men are coming off a 7-0 loss to TCU almost two weeks ago in Fort Worth, while the Cameron Aggies opened their season Thursday taking on Dallas Baptist.
CU was ranked 19th in the Intercollegiate Association’s (ITA) Division II fall rankings, with Nicolai Ferrigno ranked second and Duje Janjic ranked ninth. As a doubles pair, the duo is ranked third to start the season.
The Mavericks and the Aggies have met before. This is the ninth meeting between the two schools with UT Arlington winning all eight match, including five shutouts.
First serve against the Aggies is at 11 a.m.
