Arlington, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to New Orleans on Saturday, February 7 at the UTA Tennis Center.

The Privateers, ranked No. 75 in the country improved their record to 6-0 on the season while UTA fell to 1-3 overall.

After capturing the doubles' point, the Mavericks were unable to hold off the Privateers in singles' play, falling in four of the six matches.

Tandem Mindaugas Celedinas and Dmitry Minkin handed Guilherme Rebolo and Calvin Kemp an 8-3 loss in the No. 1 spot while Jose Gaspar and Ben Smith defeated Brieuc Hamon and Adam Srkala 9-8 (7-5) in No. 2 position.

Gonzalo Bienzobas and David Subirats captured their match against Vinay Kamineni and Oliver Cuthill by a final score of 8-3 in the No.3 spot.

In singles' action, Calvin Kemp defeated Hamon by a final score of 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 1 position while newcomer Celedinas collected a 6-1, 3-6, and 6-4 win over Vinay Kamineni in the No.2 spot.

Playing in the No.3 spot, Minkin handed Guilherme Rebolo a 6-4, 6-4 loss while Srkala dropped a hard-fought 7-6 (7-4), and 6-0 decision to Ben Smith.

Jose Gaspar defeated Jason Lateko by a final score of 7-6 (10-8), and 6-4 in the No.5 position while Bienzobas fell 6-4, 6-1 to Oliver Cuthill in the No. 6 singles' position.

The Mavericks will remain at home when it hosts Centenary on Thursday, February 12. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
