ARLINGOTN, Texas - The UT Arlington men's tennis team will take on the No. 18 Baylor Bears Saturday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco.
"We play them every year and it's always a great match," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "They know we take every position seriously and I don't know what to expect from this match, but I know it's going to be fun down there."
The men are 1-1 on the season after defeated Cameron University 6-1 at the UTA Tennis Center for their home opener.
The Bears are undefeated at home and are 3-1 overall with their lone loss to Tulsa (5-2) in Oklahoma. This is the 15th meeting between the two schools with Baylor leading the series 3-11.
Last year the Bears defeated the Mavericks, but not before UTA took the doubles point heading into singles and the Mavericks are looking to start the match the same way.
"We're playing really good doubles right now and we have so many good doubles players," Benitez said. "Winning the double points would be a tremendous boost, like we did last year."
