MEN'S TENNIS SWEEPS CENTENARY, 7-0

Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington men's tennis team sweep Centenary, 7-0 on Tuesday, March 3 at the UTA Tennis Center in a rescheduled match. The win improved UTA to 5-4 overall. UTA recorded three straight wins in doubles' action, collecting the match point. Tandem Dmitry Minkin and Mindaugas Celedinas collected their seventh doubles win when they handed Evan Magill and Jacob Dawson an 8-1 setback in the No. 1 position. Newcomer Jason Lateko and junior Gonzalo Bienzobas notched an 8-2 victory against Jules Bourgon and Seva Kostelanetz in the No. 2 spot. The win was the eighth for duo Lateko and Bienzobas. Brieuc Hamon and Adam Srkala sealed the match point with an 8-1 decision over John Callen and Matt Shoptough in the No. 3 spot in the rotation. The Mavericks dominated singles play, recording wins in all six matches. Celedinas led off with an easy 6-1, 6-1 victory over Magill in the No. 1 spot while Minkin followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Bourgon in the No. 2 position. Hamon handed Dawson a 6-1, 6-0 setback in the No. 3 spot in the lineup while Srkala secured a 6-0, ret win over Kostelanetz and Subirats collected a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Callen in the No. 5 position.
Bienzobas wrapped up the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Shoptough in the No. 6 spot.
UTA hosts UTSA in a conference match-up on Friday, March 6 at the UTA Tennis Center. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
