ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington men's tennis hosts Nicholls State Thursday at 2 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
This match marks the first in a nine-match homestand. The Mavericks are 3-6 overall and 3-2 on their home court.
"It's going to be a tough match," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "I feel the team has worded had for the matches this weekend. The doubles point is going to be a large factor."
Sophomore Carlos Arbiza has made his way into the ITA rankings in both singles and doubles. Arbiza and senior Javier Perez are ranked No. 49 after defeating TCU's 18th-ranked doubles team. Arbiza is No. 125 in singles.
The Colonels enter the match 6-5 overall, with only one win on the road.
The two teams have not met since they were Southland Conference foes. Nicholls State won a close 4-3 match in Arlington in 2012.
First serve is set for 2 p.m. Admission is free.
