MEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO No. 7 BAYLOR, 7-0

Waco, Texas - The UT Arlington Mavericks suffered a 7-0 shutout loss to nationally-ranked Baylor University on Sunday, March 22 in Waco, Texas at the Baylor Tennis Center. The loss dropped the Mavs to 7-8 overall while the Bears improved to 13-5. Tandem Dmitry Minkin and Mindaugas Celedinas were the only doubles team to capture a win as the Mavericks lost the match point to the Bears. Minkin and Celedinas handed Denes Lukacs and Maros Horny an 9-8 (7-4) loss in the No. 1 position while Gonzalo Bienzobas and Brieuc Hamon dropped an 8-1 decision to Marc Bruche and Attila Bucko in the No. 2 spot in the lineup. Jason Lateko and David Subirats lost the No. 3 match against Dominik Mueller and Julian Bley by a score of 9-8 (8-6). UT Arlington dropped all six matches in singles play to a tough Baylor squad. Celedinas lost a 6-3, 6-2 decision to No. 6 Denes Lukacs in the top singles spot. David Galic handed Minkin a 6-3, 6-3 loss in the No. 2 position in the rotation while Subirats suffered a 6-0, 6-0 setback to Bley in the No. 3 spot. Lateko fell in the No. 4 position to Mueller by scores of 6-3, 6-0 while Bucko collected a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Adam Srkala in the No. 5 spot and Maros Horny handed Bienzobas a 6-1, 6-1 loss in the No. 6 lineup spot.
UTA travels to Fort Worth, Texas for a meeting with TCU on Tuesday, March 24. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
