ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas-Arlington men's tennis team received the Southland Conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament for their efforts in winning the conference tournament. Their reward is a trip to College Station, Texas, to take on the 16th-seeded Texas A&M Aggies.
Texas-Arlington (13-6) finished the regular season in a three-way tie for first place in the Southland Conference. They entered the conference tournament as the three seed. They knocked off Lamar, 4-0, in the first round, and then took out two-seeded Southeastern Louisiana, 4-1, in the semifinals. After Texas A&M-Corpus Christi fell to Texas-San Antonio in the other semifinal, the Mavericks would then take on their rivals, the Roadrunners in the championship match.
