ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men’s tennis team will travel to Waco, Texas this weekend to compete in the HEB Intercollegiate hosted by the Bears of Baylor University.
"This is the tenth year in a row we are competing at the Baylor HEB Invitational," UT Arlingotn head coach Diego Benitez said. "We have had great results here, especially wtih Any Leaber some years ago."
Participating schools include Baylor, DePaul, Idaho, Laredo Community College, Louisiana Lafayette, Midwestern State, Rice, Southern Mississippi, Tennessee, Tulsa, UTSA, UT Pan American, Virginia Tech and UT Arlington.
The tournament will consist of one 64-player singles draw and one 32-team doubles bracket.
" Freshmen Carlos Arbiza and Sebastian Erimiciou are back after having great matches in Midland," Benitez said about his promising freshmen. "Yauheni is looking to bounce back after a couple of though matches last week and Stefan will be playing for the first time this semester."
Senior Yauheni Yakauleu and sophomore Stefan Williams are the only returners for the Mavericks competing in the HEB Intercollegiate. The returners will be joined by newcomers Carlos Aribza and Sebastian Emiriciou.
