Arlington, Texas - UT Arlington men's tennis team completed action at the Wilson-ITA South Central Region Championships in College Station, Texas on Sunday, October 26, 2008.

In the singles' main draw competition, Brieuc Hamon recorded an easy 6-2, 6-0 victory over Christopher Jordan of Prairie View A&M in his first match and handed Alex Pavlov of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi a 6-4, 6-4 setback in the round of 64.

With two victories under his belt, Hamon was unable to capture his third, where he dropped a hard-fought 4-6, 6-2, and 6-3 decision to University of Texas's Dimitar Kutrovsky.

Newcomer Adam Srkala suffered a 6-4, 6-2 setback to TCU's Cameron Nash and lost his second match by scores of 2-6, 6-2, and 1-0 against Lamar's Maciej Boguesz.

Senior Dmitry Minkin dropped a 7-5, 6-0 decision to Marc Bruche of Baylor but recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win over UTSA's Jorge Delgado. Minkin collected his second win of the tournament with a 3-6, 6-4 and 1-0 victory against James Langford of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi but suffered a 6-7, 7-6, and 1-0 setback in the quarterfinals over Texas Tech's Milos Kustudija.

Newcomer Jason Lateko lost a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Lamar's Mario Janjic but recorded his first win of the tournament with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Prairie View A&M's Shariq Khan. Lateko advanced to the third round of the single's consolation, where he dropped 6-4, 6-1 decision over Texas Tech's Milos Kustudija.

David Subirats led things off with a 6-2, 2-6, and 6-3 victory against Adham El-Effendi of SMU but lost his second match to Texas A&M's Austin Krajicek by a final score of 6-0, default. Subirats suffered a loss in the round of 32 to Adrian Simon of TCU by scores of 6-2, 6-4.

 

 

Mindaugas Celedinas dropped a 6-4, 7-5 decision to Kayvon Karimi of Texas A&M and suffered a 6-4, 6-4 setback against Tobias Flood of SMU.

Junior Gonzalo Bienzobas lost his first match by scores of 6-3, 6-1 to Michael Breler of Texas Tech and dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision to Texas A&M's Marcus Lunt.

In the round of 64 in doubles' action, duo Bienzobas and Subirats suffered an 8-6 setback against doubles' partners Hoover-Karimi of Texas A&M.

Tandem Hamon and Srkala handed Lamar's Filkuka and Janjic an 8-6 loss but dropped an 8-5 decision in the round of 32 against Banas and Olechowski of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Celedinas and Minkin suffered an 8-1 setback against Rosa and Scheil of Rice.

The Mavs will compete in one final tournament before the start of the spring season in Austin, Texas at the Texas Invitational on Nov. 1.
