ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington men's tennis continued to assert itself as a power in the Texas Region as both Guanarteme Nuez and Mauricio Del Rio were featured in the final fall standings released by the ITA.
As a double duo, the tandem are ranked No. 48 in the nation after a successful fall season. While competing together in just two tournaments, the duo finished 3-2 for the season. In singles, Nuez found himself ranked No. 87, the highest ranked singles player from the Sun Belt.
"Teme's hard work this semester has paid off," UTA coach Diego Benitez said. "He had some really good results and I see hi determination to lead this team to success. We are proud of him and we are looking forward to see him achieve further goals."
Nuez was 6-3 in singles with several wins against higher ranked opponents.
The UTA spring slate will be released later this month.
