Southland Conference Champion in the pole vault with a mark of 16-06.75... tied for 1st in pole vault at the Bobby Lane Invitational (3/28) with a height of 4.55 meters...2nd at the Mean Green Invitational (4/30) with a vault of 15-07.00...participated at the Texas Relays.

Southland Conference Champion in the pole vault with a mark of 16-07.25...participated in 3 other meets and finished 3rd, 4th and 8th in those meets... 3rd at the Texas A&M Invitational (2/13-14) with a height of 16-03.25...at the NCAA Qualifying Meet (3/7), he took 5th place vaulting to 4.87 meters.
2008 Outdoor
Conference champion in the pole vault with a mark of 17-0.75 which was also a NCAA regional qualifying mark...did not post a height at regionals. 2008 Indoor: Won the Southland Conference indoor pole vault championship with a mark of 16-8.75...posted a season mark of 17-2.75.
2007 Outdoor
Qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regionals with vault of 16-06.75 to claim third and all-conference honors at the SLC Outdoor... finished seventh at Rice with height of 15-09.
2007 Indoor
Earned all-SLC honors with height of 16-06.75 for third place at SLC Indoor... won the Texas Tech Invite with 16-02.75... took sixth at Houston Indoor with 16-00.75. 2006 Outdoor: Redshirted. 2006 Indoor: Cleared 15-07 in only meet of the season at the Houston Indoor Jan. 14.
High School
Cleared 15 feet to break the Bonham High School pole vault record twice in the same day to place second in the region and advance to the Class 3A state meet... cleared 15-9 to win Class 3A gold medal... Hayes' personal best is 15-09.50... a two-time regional qualifier in the 800-meter relay, he was a regional qualifier in the 4x100 meter relay and a district champion in the 200 meters with a time of 22.60... named the Bonham High School Track MVP for the past three seasons... named first-team all-district and all-Texomaland at quarterback in 2004 and second-team all-district wide receiver in 2004... a two-year letterman in baseball, he played center field... named a Texas Scholar, was a member of the student council and Spanish Club... participated in the athletes Serving the Community and Team Unite for Fannin County where he served on community projects.
