SAN ANTONIO, Texas - UTA hurdlers Adam Stafford, Edward Broadnax and Jon McDowell made a clean sweep in the 110-meter hurdles with a 1-2-3 finish to highlight action at the Whataburger/UTSA Relays at the Blossom Athletic Complex on March 19.

Stafford posted an NCAA regional-qualifying time of 14.20 in the preliminary heat and later went on to capture the finals race. Broadnax narrowly missed the region mark with a 14.36, just .03 off the qualifying time.

James Mannering won the high jump competition with a leap of 6-04.25.

Freshman runner Jodi Broccoli-Hickey placed third in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:00.44.

Kelley Jackson finished fourth in the shot put wit a 50-10.25 and seventh in the discus with a 143-11.

Michael Cast was second in the javelin with a throw of 169-00.

In the long jump, Quinchun Carey and Brian Allison placed third and fourth with leaps of 22-03.5 and 21-11.75, respectively.

UTA returns to action Saturday at the Michael Johnson Relays in Waco.
