AUSTIN, Texas - UT Arlington senior Coby Morrison qualified for the NCAA Region in his third event with a personal-best time of 51.18 seconds to advance to Saturday's final in the 400-meter hurdles during Day two of the 80th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the Mike A. Myers Track Stadium here.
Morrison's time beat his previous best of 51.34 at the 2005 Southland Conference Outodoor Championships. He has already assured himself of a trip to the NCAA Region Meet in Des Moines, Iowa, after qualifying in the 200 meters and as a member of the 4x100-meter relay.
Teammate Curtis Hoyle clocked a time of 56.51 in his heat of the 400-meter hurdles.
Day three begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
