ARLINGTON, Texas - Day one of the Texas Tech Invitational is over and a few events have been completed.

Senior Jasmine Walls and freshman Shannon Reynolds placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the women's 200 meter run. Senior Megan Turner placed eighth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:27.

Both UTA women distance medley teams finished in the top four. The `B' team actually posted a better time than the `A' team, with a time of 12:20.

Sophomore Eld-hah Kaswatuka placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.25 meters.

The men were lead by junior Cordero Gray. He placed second overall in the 200 meter run with a time of 21.28 seconds. Juan Lewis also placed eleventh in the same event.

Similar to the women's distance relay, the men's `B' team finished just ahead of the `A' team with a time of 10:47.

Sophomore Isiah Clements placed fourth overall in the men's high jump, with a height of 2.04 meters.

Both the men and the women will continue to participate in the Texas Tech Invitational on Saturday.
