ARLINGTON, Texas - Day one of the New Balance Collegiate Invitational is complete.

UTA had two All-Americans attend the meet in New York, N.Y., and Cordero Gray wrapped up day one with a third place finish.

Gray opened the prelims 60 meter dash with a 6.75 which qualified him for the finals. This beat his fastest time of last season.

Coming off a sixth place finish in the prelims, Gray stepped it up in the finals earning a third place finish with a time of 6.78.

The Southland conference was well represented by Gray and fellow athlete Teddy Williams, from UT San Antonio. Williams had the fastest time in the 60.

Fellow runner Jasmine Walls, posted her fastest time of the year in the 60 meter dash. She ran a 7.68, which was good enough for 32nd. Walls did not qualify for the finals in this event.

Gray and Walls will be back on the track tomorrow when they compete in the 100 meter dash.
