ARLINGTON, Tex. - Most years, the times Cordero Gray recorded in the 60m and the 200m would have automatically qualified him for the NCAA Championships.

This year, however, his school-record time of 6.67 in the 60m and outstanding time of 21.08 in the 200m fell a bit short.

Gray has one more chance, though, when he and five teammates compete in the Arkansas Final Qualifier on Friday.

Amanda McMahon, Esther Abuto, DeAndrea Smith, Lindsey Putman and Juan Lewis will compete in the meet Friday in addition to Gray.

None, however, has a better chance of qualifying for the NCAA Championships this week than Gray.

For the senior sprinter to make the national meet, he would need to record a time of 6.64 in the 60m or 20.83 in the 200m.

The athletes get their final chances Friday evening in Fayetteville, Ark.
