HORNED FROG INVITATIONAL RESULTS

FORT WORTH, Tx. - The UTA men's track team won its first outdoor meet of the spring Saturday at the Horned Frog Invitational in Fort Worth. The team scored 149.50 points which bested second place TCU which had 138 points.

The 4x100 relay team of Cordero Gray, Jarid Vaughan, Takeshi Fujiwara and Byron Majors won with a time of 40.05 seconds which qualifies the team for the NCAA Regional Meet in that event.

The Mavericks used a strong combination of winning the that relay and recording points in field events to win the meet.

Andrew Duncan III scored points in three events as he finished second in the high jump (6-06.75) and triple jump (48-09.00) while placing third in the long jump with a mark of 23-06.25.

Idilio Campos finished second in the 1500 meters with a mark of 4:02.16. Other individuals finishing second in their events included Cory Carswell in the pole vault (15-01) and Aundrea Williams in the 400 meter hurdles. Dwight Robinson finished third in that event.

The Mavericks are at home next Saturday for the annual Bobby Lane Invitational at Maverick Stadium.
