OLYMPIANS RACE AT BOBBY LANE MEET

ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington native and Olympic gold medalist Jeremy Wariner and Olympic gold medalist Darold Williamson will be among the athletes competing at The Bobby Lane Arlington Invitational presented by Ben Hogan Sports Therapy Institute Saturday, March 31, at Maverick Stadium.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students. Field events are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and running events at 1 p.m.
Teams scheduled to compete include: Angelo State, Dallas Baptist, DePaul, Emporia State, Louisiana-Monroe, McMurry, Minnesota, Northwood, North Dakota, North Dakota State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, SMU, Southwest Christian, Tarleton State, TCU, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas State and UT Arlington.
The Chinese National Team will have their 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams competing.
Williamson, a former Baylor standout, will compete in the men's 400-meter dash at approximately 4:10 p.m. He was a member of the 2004 Olympic and 2005 World Outdoor 4x400-meter gold medal-winning relay teams. Williamson was also the 2005 NCAA Outdoor 400-meter champion.
Wariner, a graduate of Arlington Lamar High School, will run in the men's 200-meter dash at 6:05 p.m. Wariner won gold medals at the 2004 Olympic 400 meters and 4x400-meter relay. He was the World Outdoor 400 meter and 4x400-meter relay gold medalist and is a two-time USA Outdoor champion.
Former Oklahoma sprinter DaBryan Blanton will compete in the 100 meters. Blanton was the 2004 NCAA Indoor 60 meter champion and a two-time Big 12 Conference 100-meter champion and the U.S. Junior men's 100 meter record holder.
"We are excited to be hosting a meet this weekend. It is a good field and will be a strong tune up before the Texas Relays," said UT Arlington Head Track and Field Coach John Sauerhage. "It is early in the season, but we will try to have several athletes qualify for the NCAA Regionals."
"We are thrilled to have Jeremy return to Arlington. He competed at this meet last year and back in 2004... it is great to have an Arlington native return to Maverick Stadium."
Connaughton has a top-20 national time in the 100 meters and senior Coby Morrison has a top-20 mark in the 200 meters.
