ARLINGTON, Texas - Just days after the only home meet of the year, UT Arlington had 15 athletes selected to run in the eighty-third Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
The Texas Relays host schools from across the nation in one of the most competitive meets of the outdoor season.
Almost halfway into the meet, the Mavericks have run well against some of the best in the nation.
Senior Megan Turner ran her personal best in the preliminary 400 meter hurdles. She improved her time from the Bobby Lane Invitational by over a second and a half. Turner finished thirteenth with a time of 1:02.43.
Finishing just seconds behind Turner was sophomore Doxie Thompson. Thompson finished with a time of 1:04.60.
Along with Thompson and Turner, Caroline Erlingson (4:36.22) and Amanada McMahon(4:36.38) finished third and seventh, respectively, in the 1500 meter run.
Running in the same event for the men was Ozie Hood. Hood improved from his time last weekend and finished second with a time of 3:52.58.
Another Maverick that kept pace was Jerono Patrober. Patrober finished fourth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 17:24.56.
The remainder of the Texas Relays is scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday.
