ARLINGTON, TexasThe University of Texas at Arlington men's and women's track and field teams both head to action this weekend at the KT Woodman Classic, hosted by Wichita State, while the heptathletes and decathletes will compete at the Angelo State Multi-Events.

Four Mavericks qualified individually at last weekend's Texas Relays. Those who qualified include: senior Rukaiya Holland (Houston), junior Kajsa Haglund (Bastad, Sweden), junior Candeese Cawley (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) and freshman Adam Stafford (Merkel). The women's 400-meter relay team made up of Holland, Cawley, Camille Duckett (Arlington) and Brittany Williams (Fort Worth) qualified for regionals at the Texas A&M College Station Relays March 22.

Haglund won the 800-meter run at last year's KT Woodman Classic by running a 2:12.03. Haglund ran a 4:23.79 at the Texas Relays to qualify.

Sophomore Paul Whitty (London, Ontario, Canada) won the 110-meter hurdles at last year's meet by running a 14.93. Whitty ran a 14.46 at the Texas Relays, barely missing the regional qualifying standard of 14.40.

UTA will send three heptathletes and three decathletes to compete on Thursday and Friday in San Angelo. Competing athletes include Brandon Biscoe (Grand Prairie), Corey Streetman (Gunter), Lath Staats (Arlington), Tara Burns (Midland), Mandy McGee (Stephenville) and Charissa Osburn (Shiner).
