Men's Track & Field climbs to 38th in USTFCCCA rankings

ARLINGTON, Tex. - The men's track & field team has climbed to 38th in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the USTFCCCA unveiled this week.
The men made their move behind the outstanding, record-breaking performance from Romain Martin. The sophomore posted the second-highest decathlon score in the NCAA this season when he scored 7867 points at Texas Relays.
Martin's score bested the former UT Arlington record by more than 900 points.
Martin is the highest projected scorer on the team, according to the rankings.
Cordero Gray is on the individual list three times - in the 100m, the 200m and the 4x100m relay team, which is currently ranked 36th in the nation. Gray currently has a No. 10 ranking in the 100m and a No. 24 ranking in the 200m.
UTA is the highest-ranked program in the Southland Conference, which currently ranks seventh in the NCAA.
