ARLINGTON, Tex. - Ten UT Arlington men's track and field athletes and a couple women's track and field athletes will compete in the NCAA West Preliminary beginning Thursday in Eugene, Ore.

Romain Martin became the most recent addition when he was added in the javelin. He will also compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the decathlon.

The men open competition at the University of Oregon as the No. 31 team in the nation, according to the most recent United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll.

"It's a nice honor, but rankings go out the window tomorrow," UTA coach John Sauerhage said. "We plan to take our case to the track with results. We are fired up."
