LONDON, England - Former UT Arlington sprinter Jared Connaughton has advanced to the semifinals of the 200-meter dash at the 2012 London Olympics. Connaughton, who graduated from UTA in 2007, competes for Team Canada.
Connaughton ran a time of 20.72 to finish third in the seventh and final heat of the event. He will compete in first of three heats in Wednesday's semifinals. The finals will compete for medals on Thursday.
He previously competed in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he reached the semifinals of the 200m. His personal record time in the event is 20.30.
