Aug. 8, 2012
LONDON, England - Jared Connaughton, a 2007 UT Arlington graduate and former Maverick track and field standout, finished seventh in his semifinal heat of the 200-meter dash at the 2012 London Olympics. He will continue his run at the Olympics by competing for Team Canada's 4x100 relay team.
Connaughton posted a clocking of 20.64 in the event. Only the top two in each heat, plus the next two fastest runners, advanced to the finals. The slowest time to reach the finals was 20.37.
Connaughton has now reached the semis in the event in each of the last two Olympic Games (Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012).
