UT ARLINGTON FINISHES 16TH AT COWBOY JAMBOREE

STILLWATER, Oklahoma - The UT Arlington men's cross country team took 16th place at the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday morning in Stillwater, Okla. The event, hosted by Oklahoma State, was won by the Oklahoma State (38 points) men's team and by the Northern Arizona (61 points) women's squad. The UT Arlington men's cross country team finished with 397 points, while the Maverick women finished 15th overall with 416 total points. The UT Arlington Maverick men were once again led by senior Idilio Campos, who finished in 35th place with a time of 25:31. Three other men's runners notched top 100 finishes with sophomore Zach Zura (26:47) finishing 77th, senior Ozie Hood (27:00) taking 85th and sophomore Heinz Schwarzkoph (27:09) grabbing 90th overall. The Mavs average time on the day was 26:49. The women's event featured 25 teams competing in a 6K race, with Kansas State's Beverly Ramos winning the competition with a time of 20 minutes, 30 seconds. The men's race was an 8K competition with Daniel Kirwa of Harding University claiming the meet title with a time of 23:57. The Maverick women had four runners finish inside of the top 100, led by senior Caroline Erlingson's 23:01 time that placed her 63rd among the field. Sophomore Amanda McMahon finished the race in 23:20 (76th place), junior Christina Mose took 79th place with a time of 23:26, and sophomore Perri Ford finished with a time of 23:32 (82nd place). The UT Arlington women had an average time of 23:33 in the meet. Both UT Arlington squads will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by Arkansas in Fayetteville.
