COLLEGE STATION, Texas - UT Arlington will look to build off last week's season opener at North Texas when they face some of the top cross country programs in the region at the Texas A&M Invitational at the Penberthy Intramural Center Saturday.

The University men will race 8,000 meters at 7:45 a.m. followed by the University women with a 5K at 8:30 a.m.

The men's field will include both men's and women's squads from Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston, Texas A&M International, UT Arlington, Texas-Pan American, Texas State-San Marcos, and Trinity.

In addition there are men's teams from Houston, Monterry Tech in Mexico, Palo Alto College, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, and Texas-San Antonio. Other women's teams include Rice, SMU, Texas, and Texas Lutheran.

Rice, Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor's women's teams rank in the top six in the south central region, according to the latest poll.

Junior Jody Broccoli-Hickey (The Woodlands, Texas) led the men's team with a fifth-place finish at North Texas running the four-mile course in 20:35.69. Sophomore Idilio Campos (Mission, Texas) was 11th with a 21:09.95.

For the women, junior Jodi Hulett (Arlington, Texas) was ninth with a two-mile time of 11:11.63. Freshman Ida Landgraff (Oslo, Norway) finished 18th in her debut with an 11:52.54.
