The UT Arlington men's cross country team moved two spots in the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Central poll for the week of Oct. 3.
UT Arlington finished 11th at the OSU Cowboys Jamboree on Sept. 29. Senior Jody Broccoli-Hickey was the top Maverick runner with a 29th-place finish with a time of 25-minutes, 23-seconds over the 8,000-meter course.
"We are making progress and we are trying to get better," said UT Arlington Head Cross Country Coach John Sauerhage. "The rankings don't matter until the conference meet. It is nice to get the recognition, but our goal is to perform well at the conference and regional meets."
The Mavericks will get their final tune up for the conference meet when they travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Chili Pepper Invitational, Oct. 13. The SLC Championship is Oct. 27 at Corpus Christi.
