ARLINGTON, Texas - Before the season coach John Sauerhage said that his men's cross country team was young and rebuilding while his women's team had the potential to finish in the top three in the conference meet.
No one knows a team better than the coach as Sauerhage's men finished 7th and the women third in the Southland conference meet.
Sophomore Jennifer Carey led the Lady Mavericks once again with an 11th place finish and a time of 21:41. No Mav on the women's side finished in the top 10 but three finished in the top 20 including Carey. Junior Perri Ford was next in line for the women, finishing 17th with a time of 21:53.
The last in the top 20 was junior Amanda McMahon, finishing at 19th.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won the meet with 59 points. UTA had 105. Anne Ronch from TAMCC won the meet with a time of 20:44.
Lamar won th met with 38 points as UTA finished with 204. Francis Kasagule from Lamar won the meet with a time of 23:54.
