Austin (Mar. 1)... scored 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting, 2-of-2 from three-point range, including 4-of-5 from the free throw line to go along with five rebounds, two assists and one steal against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 23)... recorded 14 points, three assists and one steal on the road against Southeastern Louisiana (Jan. 19)... collected 13 points on 6-of-18 shooting to go along with four assists and two steals in triple overtime versus Marshall (Dec. 18)... notched 13 points, two rebounds, and five assists against SMU (Dec. 8)... collected 11 points on three occasions against Big XII opponent Texas (Nov. 29), Central Arkansas (Jan. 10) and Northwestern State (Jan. 12)... notched 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-6 from behind the arc to go along with five rebounds and six assists... posted 10 games of five or more assists and 19 games of two or more rebounds this past season... finished the season by averaging 8.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Mansfield Summit High School
As a senior, Simmons averaged 11.1 points a game and led her team in scoring with 434 points... shot 76 percent from the charity stripe and 31 percent from beyond the arch to lead the Jaguars... ended her high school career ranked second in career 3-point field goals with 65 made at Summit High School... was a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state and all-region selection as well as a Texas Girls Coaches Association all-state selection... helped lead Summit to the state semifinals and was ranked third in the state in class 5A.... was an first team all-district selection as a senior and honorable mention selection as a junior.
