Kristopher Wood joined the UTA Athletic Development team in June of 2013 after serving a two-year stint as an assistant coach for the UTA women's basketball team. As Assistant Athletics Director for Annual Giving and Athletic Alumni Relations, Wood oversees all aspects of the Maverick Club, the Athletic Alumni, and facilitates premium seating for basketball season tickets.
Prior to coming to UTA, Wood served as a fulltime mathematics professor and assistant women's basketball coach at Blinn College.He has also held the position of head women's basketball coach, mathematics professor and kinesiology professor at Paris Junior College from 2007 to 2009.He began working in college athletics at Hill College, serving as head coach for women's basketball and men's golf, as well as teaching mathematics and kinesiology courses.
Wood is currently pursuing his Ph. D. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M-Commerce.The focus of his research is Differences in Self-Regulated Learning Skills among Athletes.Wood earned his Master of Science in Sport Management from Baylor University in 2005, and his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2002.
