Game Notes

  • UT Arlington topped Georgia Southern 70-49 on Thursday afternoon at College Park Center. The game, presented by Ben Hogan Texas Health, was a part of UTA's annual Maverick Spirit Kid's Day game.
  • The attendance of 5,590 was the largest for the Lady Mavs this season and fifth largest in College Park Center history for UTA events.
  • UTA improved its record to 17-10 and 11-5 in the Sun Belt. UTA pushed its winning streak to a league-best six games, having won nine of 10. Georgia Southern fell to 5-21 and 2-13 in league play.
  • Daiane Machado secured her first-career double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Rebekah VanDijk finished with 22 points and eight rebounds.
  • Aysia Evans had 10 points.
  • UTA outscored the Eagles 38-12 in points in the paint, 36-19 in bench points and 20-1 in second-chance points.
  • UTA improved to 6-1 against Georgia Southern, avenging a loss to the Eagles in January.
  • UTA is 12-2 at College Park Center this season and 23-5 over the last two years.
  • The Lady Mavericks celebrate their Senior Day on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Georgia State. UTA will honor VanDijk, Miranda LeJune and Shelby Richards before the game. Cierra Johnson (injury) and Crystal Allen will return for the 2018-19 season.
