ARLINGTON, Texas - Ashley Bobb scored 15 points and matched her career high with 15 rebounds to lead Texas-Arlington past Nicholls State 65-39 Thursday night at Texas Hall.

It was the third double-double of the season for Bobb and all three have come in the last five games as the Mavericks won four of those contests.

Texas-Arlington (17-7, 11-2) outrebounded the Lady Colonels 53-26 as Erin Dixon was also in double figures for the Mavericks with 10.

Terra Wallace had 12 points for the Mavericks and Tojjinay Thompson added 10 while Jamie Octave led Nicholls State (4-21, 3-11) with 16.

"We had terrific teamwork," Texas-Arlington coach Donna Capps said. "Everybody off the bench contributed. We had a very positive game."

Things started slowly for the Mavericks, who led only 10-7 at the midway point of the first half.

"Nicholls was giving us the shots, but we were just a little off," said Capps. "We made some adjustments and opened things up."

The Mavericks widened their lead to 18-11 before Nicholls went on an 8-0 to cut the gap to one with 3:40 left in the half. Texas-Arlington then pulled away for a 28-19 edge at halftime.

A pair of three pointers by Thompson and two more by Wallace helped widen the gap to 22 early in the second half as the Mavericks took a 48-26 lead with 11:34 left on the clock.

Bobb then went to work with a pair of free throws, a three-pointer and a layup as the lead reached 55-28 with 7:55 remaining.

"We go over and over this in practice every day, it's all about positioning," Bobb explained. "We also forced a lot of turnovers, too."

Texas-Arlington will host Southeastern Louisiana Saturday at Texas Hall with game time set for 2 p.m. The game has been dubbed "Senior Day".
