Postgame Notes

  • UTA clinched its first 20-win season since 2008-09 with a win on Thursday. It is the ninth 20-win season in program history. UTA also clinched a first-round bye in next week's Sun Belt Championship tournament in New Orleans. UTA is guaranteed either the two or three seed with Texas State's loss on Thursday to Louisiana. Going into Saturday, UTA has several variables that will give UTA the second spot. A UTA win or Troy loss would solidify the second spot.
  • Rebekah VanDijk moved up to 11th in UTA scoring history as the junior heads into the final regular season game with 1,181 career points. She needs just 15 points to enter the program's top-10 charts. Against ULM, VanDijk hit her first eight shots of the game on the way to a game-high 24 points. She was 11-of-14 overall. Grabbing 10 rebounds, she earned her 11th double-double of the season and 36th of her career. She entered sixth in NCAA Division I active career leaders for double-doubles.
  • Also notable for VanDijk, knocking away two blocks, she moved into third in UTA history for career blocks with 141 in her career. She is just one block away from moving into 21st in Sun Belt career history.
  • UTA forced 23 turnovers on the night, besting its season average of 21.9 that was sixth in the nation entering Thursday. UTA used the 23-12 turnover advantage to turn a 34-15 margin in points off turnovers.
  • UTA shot a season best 56.1 percent from the field. The Lady Mavs shot just three overall free throws, a season low for made and attempted.
  • UTA ends the regular season on Saturday at Louisiana in a 5 p.m. tilt featured on ESPN3.
