Postgame Notes

  • UTA's season came to an end in the first round of the WNIT and a 22-9 season. Tulane used a 23-8 advantage in the first to down UTA 62-53. The 22 wins are tied for the third-most in program history and winning percentage of .709 is second-best all-time.
  • Johnson quickly moved up the UTA single-season steal charts. She junior guard grabbed two in the first quarter to surpass Carolyn Smith (1980-81, 92) for second. Johnson ended just one shy of tying the single-season all-time mark.
  • Rebekah VanDijk was one of two Lady Mavs in double figures, scoring 11 points. The junior center finished with 27 of the 31 games with 10 or more points.
  • Tulane held a 19-8 advantage in points from the bench. Crystal Allen led UTA's effort with five, while Shelby Richards hit a 3-pointer for her three.
  • UTA was out-rebounded 37-27, its second consecutive game with a disadvantage on the boards. UTA finished 6-9 when being out-rebounded, and 16-2 when being on the top side.
  • Tulane will host Grambling in the WNIT second round after Grambling upset Ole Miss earlier on Thursday.
